If I Were a Nun

If I were a nun I would be like Fraulein Maria. Why?

I would always get in trouble for singing.
Music is beautiful, wonderful, joyful, and expressive. i don't think I could keep myself from singing even if it were a sin! Good thing it's not then! When I am singing, I forget about everything else, and just lose myself in the words, the tune, and try not to criticize all the mistakes I am making. It gives such great joy!

I would run through the hills barefoot.
A great young man once said "The natural man is an enemy to God. The natural body is not. Barefoot is best." Of course he was a crazy ape-man, but still! Bare feet, and the feel of cool grass, were meant to go together. and running through the hills with the breeze in your face, AND cool grass beneath your bare feet? There is no greater feeling. :)

I would teach kids how to sing, have fun, and I would love them until they loved me back!
Discipline can only go so far. I heard this quote once: "people don't care what you know, until they know that you care." I loved it the moment I heard it! Of course we all need respect, but when we have respect, and a feeling of mutual love; peace and joy are not so difficult to find. :)

I would end up giving it all up to marry a rich, handsome man who plays guitar and sings with his children.
I'm Melodie. need I explain?

"How do you solve a problem like Maria?" [a.k.a. Melodie ;]

Unexpected

I think all of my contemplative blogs will somehow start with "It's funny how..." Man, I need to get more creative and original. Anyway, it's funny how sometimes you think you know exactly how something is going to pan out, and then someone makes one decision that throws everything off.
Like in my case, I think he's totally into me and wants to be with me, and then BAM! He just wants to be good friends and see how things go from there. that is SO not what I expected. He says we have potential... that's good. Gosh, what's a girl to do?

*Romeo save me, i've been feeling so alone, I keep waiting for you but you never come...*

Making Friends

It's funny how you can meet someone and have nothing to say to them, and then the more you see them, the more you have to talk about, and then suddenly you have great friends!
I went to institute tonight with a girl I know and it was the first time we had hung out. I was worried at first that it would be kind of weird because we are very different, but the more I talked to her, the more common ground we found, and now I feel like we are great friends! This is a good thing for me because it's been very hard for me to make friends here in Utah, but i'm finally starting to get to know people and have plans on the weekend and even DATES! wooo! haha i missed dating...
I miss all of my Arizona friends though... seeing them every day and having their example was so uplifting. :) The love I feel for them is incredible. Can't wait to go home for Christmas!

reason for starting a Blog.

Well, in the past I have been a facebook-only kind of girl, but I went on the azfriends blog and saw so many people on there I had to get a blog just so I could comment! Also, I often find nysekf bored out of my mind and this is a constructive outlet for me to get my thoughts out there! ( not to mention that it ill help my mediocre typing skills! And I need to write more anyway!) Well I am being bombarded with text messages right now so... adios!
